THE STORY

Design begins before execution. Every project starts with defining how a space should be lived.
Vera Blouin | Founder & Design Strategist at BLOU INK
Vera Blouin believes that our environments should evolve alongside us. As a Design Strategist, she specializes in defining how a home should function, flow, and be experienced; establishing the underlying structure that guides both the layout of a space and its interior expression. Through her work in spatial strategy, delivering both full interior design and residential concept development, Vera develops residential environments that align with how people live and who they are becoming.
A home designed for a previous version of someone’s life can quietly hold them in the past.
Vera’s work begins by redefining that foundation.
Her philosophy is articulated through her books, The Structure of Space and The Reincarnated Room,
which together form the intellectual framework behind BLOU INK.
The Structure of Space focuses on how space is structured, perceived, and experienced before decisions are made, reframing the built environment not as something to decorate, but as something to define.
The Reincarnated Room expands this further by introducing the idea that environments can act as catalysts for personal transformation:
“When you rebirth a room, you rebirth yourself.”
Through this lens of spatial resonance, Vera approaches design as a process of transformation, aligning the built environment with the individual who inhabits it. Each space is considered not just for its aesthetics,
but for the way it supports the next chapter of a client’s life.
At BLOU INK, design is approached as strategy before it becomes execution. Each project is defined through spatial logic, behavioral alignment, and intentional material direction, ensuring that every decision, from layout to interior experience, supports both performance and long-term livability.
With over 15 years of experience across interior design and construction, Vera has worked internationally throughout Southeast Asia, Europe, and South America, including Thailand, Germany, and Chile. This global perspective informs her understanding of how space is structured, inhabited, and experienced across cultures.
Today, BLOU INK operates across Atlanta, Dallas, and Miami, working with homeowners, builders, and developers on both full residential concepts and interior design engagements. Whether shaping a home from the ground up or redefining an existing space, Vera operates as the project’s design strategist, establishing the vision and guiding it through execution
in collaboration with licensed professionals.
Clients come to BLOU INK at a critical moment, when they recognize that their environment
no longer reflects who they are or where they are going.
What they receive is not decoration.
It's definition.
Design as an Act of Becoming
With a background in residential design, construction integration, and materials curation,
Vera brings both conceptual depth and technical precision to every project.
Her process blends:
Architectural Residential Conceptual Development
Interior Design
Structural Intent & Spatial Programming
Bespoke Material Curation & Sourcing
Operational & Flow Optimization
Refined aesthetic restraint
Architectural Liaison & Project Stewardship
The result is design that feels calm, intelligent, and emotionally magnetic;
interiors that hold space for contemplation, growth, and the rhythms of real life.
A Distinct Point of View
Vera’s approach challenges conventional design thinking:
A home is not a showroom, it is a living mirror.
Luxury is not abundance, it is intentionality.
Beautiful spaces are not enough, they must feel aligned.
Design is not decoration, it is rebirth.
Her work resonates most with clients who value privacy, self-awareness,
and the quiet confidence of a curated life.

How spatial psychology is transforming residential design before execution.
How Spatial Psychology Is Transforming Home Design
Most homes are designed visually, after decisions have already been made about layout, flow, and use.
In this conversation, Vera Blouin shares how spatial psychology reframes residential design by defining how a space should function, move, and feel before anything is selected or built.
The discussion explores the gap between homes that look complete and homes that actually support the people living in them, and why that gap begins long before finishes or furnishings are introduced.
This is where design shifts from aesthetic to structure.

How Your Comfortable Home Is Holding You Back
Comfort is often treated as the goal of residential design, but comfort without structure
can limit how a space is lived in.
In this conversation, Vera Blouin examines how familiar layouts, habitual use, and unexamined design decisions can quietly reinforce patterns that no longer align with who the homeowner is becoming.
Rather than focusing on how a home looks or feels in the moment, this discussion reframes comfort through the lens of progression, challenging the idea that a space should simply accommodate, and instead positioning it as something that should actively support change.
Because a home that never challenges you rarely evolves with you.

BLOU INK is intentionally selective, each engagement begins with a private consultation where Vera conducts a Structural & Lifestyle Diagnostic. During this high-level audit, she identifies the spatial friction points stalling your progress and outlines a Technical Design Directive to bridge the gap between your current environment and your next chapter.
"Our work begins where you realize you are ready for more, not more things, but more alignment.”
For Those Ready to Transform
Whether designing a home, reimagining an existing space, or guiding a full renovation, Vera’s work honors depth, identity, and evolution. If you feel called toward a space that reflects your next chapter, you are in the right place.
