CONCEPT OVERVIEW
Horizon House is built around a single idea: restoration should be separated from the rituals and rhythms of daily living, not folded into them.
Each volume is fitted with clerestory windows near the roofline, preserving privacy while allowing natural light into the residence. At the rear, the home opens completely to the surrounding landscape, creating a continuous connection to nature throughout the living spaces.
An offset Spine Stair connects the lofted Restoration level to the living spaces below, creating a deliberate separation between waking and the active rituals of the day. Once the individual descends, daily life unfolds below; the stair is only retraced when it is time to return to Restoration.
The Ritual Suite remains distinct from Restoration, with access through the Engagement level or the Atelier, allowing ritual to become part of the day without making it an extension of the sleeping space.
Movement through the home is layered rather than linear. From the Threshold, the residence unfolds toward the Culinary Studio, into the Nest, outward to the landscape, or toward Engagement and its connected spaces.

THE THRESHOLD, RECONSIDERED
Most homes treat the entry as a single corridor toward the rest of the house.
Horizon House challenges that model.
From the Threshold, three paths unfold:

Left, down a few steps, into Engagement
This is not a hallway.
It is a decision point, built into the architecture itself.
Layered living, extended outward , where the Culinary Studio, threshold, and Engagement all open onto the same landscape.
RESTORATION, RITUAL, AND THE ROOMS BETWEEN
The Spine Stair leads to Restoration, space reserved purely for waking and rest. Ritual is deliberately kept separate, reached instead through Engagement or the Atelier, so it remains part of the rhythm of the day rather than an extension of the bedroom.
Down the hall from Engagement, a private Office with its own entry and private garden sits fully apart from the rest of the home's daily rhythm.
Restoration reached by the Spine Stair, and only when the day is done.
